My Approach to Therapy
I view each person within the context of their relationships, identities, life experiences, and the systems that have shaped them. Together, we may explore how childhood experiences, attachment relationships, and past environments influence current patterns, emotions, beliefs, and ways of relating. I approach these patterns with curiosity and compassion, recognizing that many coping strategies developed for understandable reasons.
Alongside deeper exploration, I offer practical support to help clients feel more grounded, strengthen emotional regulation, and better understand the effects of chronic stress and nervous system activation. I tailor therapy to each client and may integrate relational-cultural therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, grounding techniques, art, sand tray, ecotherapy, and other experiential approaches.
Couples Work
I enjoy working with couples who want to better understand their relationship patterns, strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and navigate conflict with greater empathy and responsiveness. I approach couples therapy from a relational and attachment-based perspective and have completed training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT).
Rather than viewing one partner as the problem, I help couples identify the patterns and interaction cycles that may be keeping them disconnected. Together, we explore the emotions, needs, and protective responses beneath those cycles while building new ways of communicating, repairing, and connecting. I aim to create a balanced, supportive space where both partners feel heard and understood.
Populations I Serve
I work with couples and individuals, including adolescents, college students and adults. I have experience working with women’s issues, the LGBTQ+ community, childhood trauma, grief, life transitions, spirituality and career concerns. I am able to work together in person or virtually.
